About Kirstin

Kirstin grew up training ballet, jazz, tap, contemporary, modern and belly dance. As an adult, she discovered the aerial arts and has combined her vast experience in diverse movement disciplines to create her own unique style of art in the sky. She loves teaching the beauty of aerial dance and helping her students find their own voice in their movement while building strong technique.

BEGINNER Trapeze WORKSHOP

In this workshop you’ll have an introduction to dance trapeze, you’ll learn the different ways to hold, spin and create shapes on the trapeze. This is a minimal invert, low flying workshop. You will have time to play with the trapeze and learn how to move it and move with it. We will dive into what makes dance trapeze so fun with dynamic spinning and using the ropes and bars to create shapes and sequences.

  • This workshop will be 75 minutes long and will start at 1pm

  • I highly suggest wearing layers especially around the waist, legs and arms

Prerequisites

  • Eagerness to learn, comfortability with spinning will be beneficial

  • Students should have taken 5+ pole or aerial classes and be comfortable holding their own body weight and having pressure behind the knees.

Intermediate Dance Trapeze Workshop

In this workshop we will play with inverting on the trapeze and you will learn different shapes, tricks and sequences. We will work with multiple ways to get on the trapeze and will include shapes, wedges, transitions, spins, splits and slow descents.  This is a great workshop for those that want a challenge and enjoy spinning and flying.

  • This workshop will be 75 minutes long and starts at 2:30pm

  • I highly suggest wearing layers especially around the waist, legs and arms

Prerequisites

  • Students should be in an intermediate pole (level 2+) or aerial class and be comfortable with inverts, spins, and holding their body weight off the ground.

Double Sling (Hammock)

In this lively partnering workshop you’ll learn how to navigate two slings and two bodies in the air in fun and creative ways.  You’ll get plenty of time to fly and work with a partner on achieving new heights.  There will be a good amount of spinning so be prepared to whirl yourself and a friend in this dizzying workshop.  Learn some amazing shapes and a new way to fly and have a good laugh with a friend!

  • This workshop will be 90 minutes long and starts at 4:00pm

  • I highly suggest wearing layers especially around the waist, legs and arms

Prerequisites

  • Students should be in an intermediate pole (level 2+) or aerial class and be comfortable with inverts, spins, and holding their body weight.

  • Basic understanding of silks and/or hammock are helpful for this workshop.
